• The Berry Agency, an Australian company that provides marketing and promotional support to authors and publishers (including indie authors) has announced that they are now also including literary representation (romance and romantasy) within their services.
• The Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Children’s Book Week turns 80 this year! The event runs from 16th-23rd August.
• The Port Fair Literary Weekend program for September has been released!
  The perfect event for readers and authors!
• There is a new viral book (for all the wrong reasons) labelled as a dark romance, but based on a doctor in a “relationship” with a coma patient. This blurs the line between what is actually dark romance, and what is not okay (even if it is fiction).
• The Ned Kelly Awards shortlist for the best debut crime fiction have been released! The titles are: All You Took from Me / Lisa Kenway, The Chilling / Riley James, Down the Rabbit Hole / Shaeden Berry, Everywhere We Look / Martine Kropkowski, Those Opulent Days / Jacquie Pham and A Town Called Treachery / Mitch Jennings.
•  A new indie bookstore will be opening up online. Based in Adelaide they have ambition to grow to a cafe/bookstore, but are wanting to help celebrate local indie authors! They are called Griffin and The Rose and specialise in romance and fantasy.
