Crime writer, Val McDermid, has revealed that she was assigned a sensitivity reader to remove language that may cause offence in her previous work. She argues that it was dishonest to make authors change their previous works to conform with modern day ideals. People also have many arguments claiming that books are not reflective of the author and majority are made up characters.
