  • The Canberra Writers Festival has announced that they are hosting some events this year between 15-18 October to celebrate their tenth anniversary. You can find more information here.
  • The Fitzroy Writers Festival 2026 program has also been released. You can see more on their event page.
  • Author Craig Silvey has been charged with further child exploitation charges. The Guardian reports that he has been charged alongside a 68-year-old woman.
  • A new online bookstore primarily for queer books has opened in Sydney. It is called Obsidian Bookshop.
  • The 2026 Book Design Awards of Australia has released their shortlist.
  • Melbourne Writers Festival has released their program for 2026 also! This year is their 40th anniversary and the theme is ‘Visions & Revisions’. Their program can be seen here.
