The 2025 Rakuten Kobo Book Report recorded a rise in eBook and Audio downloads in Australia and interest in wellness and biography led nonfiction. Australian readers “leaned heavily into escapism in 2025 with science fiction and fantasy growing 34%.”The key findings were:
