- The Australian Public Libraries Statistical Report 2023-2024 has been released and shows a big rise in physical visits, borrowing and program anticipation across the country. The visits are up 10% from the previous year and emphasises the importance of libraries in Australia’s community.
- The longlist for the Voss Literary Prize has been announced. The prize is awarded to the best novel published in Australia the previous year.
- Robbie Arnott and Tasma Walton have both been announced as the finalist in the adult category for the Historical Novel Prize. Arnott won with his book Dusk and Walton with their book I Am Nannertgarrook. Within the children’s and young adult category, Suzanne Leal won with her book The Year We Escaped.
