Keepsake Package

Who is the Keepsake Package for?

Authors who are considering the Keepsake Package aren’t selling their book. Instead, they are only after one or two copies of their book for either their own purposes or to give to friends and family.

The Keepsake Package is a straightforward, low-cost publishing option we offer to authors who simply want to transform their manuscript from a document into a beautiful keepsake and don’t want their book able to be distributed.

What is included in the Keepsake Package?

Included in this package are the following services:

Project Management and Communication

  • Dedicated Project Manager for Support: Your project manager will be your main point of contact throughout your project. They are across the entire production of your book, can answer any questions you have, and keep you updated on the progression of your project.

Book Design

  • Cover Design: All book covers are created by our in-house designers. In the Keepsake Package, your designer works to a written brief from that is filled out by you (we provide you with the form). This form helps us understand the vision for your book. The book designer may suggest alternative options they believe work for your book as well.
  • Templated Interior Design: Just like book covers, the interior design and typesetting of your book is handled by our in-house designers. In the Keepsake Package, your designer will use one of our professionally crafted templates to layout your manuscript and any images provided.
  • 20 image insertions: Each package as a maximum of 20 image insertions. If you require more, you can let your project manager or sales consultant know and they will let you know your options.
  • Final Print Files: Once the design process has been completed and your files are ready for print, you will be given the print-ready files of your book.

Proofing

  • Electronic Proofs for Cover and Interior: The initial proofing stage is done digitally. You will be provided with a PDF to proof your cover and interior artwork before the printing of your hardcover author proof goes ahead.
  • Hardcover Author Proof Copy: To make our keepsake books last as long as possible, they are designed to be hardcover copies. Therefore, at the physical proof stage, you will be given a hardcover proof.

Legals and Finance

  • 100% Copyright: As the content creator, you will maintain 100% of the copyright of your manuscript throughout the whole process. At the end of the project, Green Hill assigns the copyright to your book design over to you as well.

Printing

  • Black and White or Full Colour Interior: Depending on your publishing needs, you can opt for either black and white or full colour interiors for your book.
  • Personal Copy or Short Run: The Keepsake Package is for authors who want to see their book printed or share their story with a small group of friends and family. We offer a short run of books (priced additionally to the package) for sharing. The Keepsake Package does not include bulk printing or POD distribution as the files are not set up for this.

Additional inclusions

Some services are allowed to be added our packages if the author requires. These services are called additional inclusions and are undertaken by Green Hill upon the author’s request at an hourly rate. The additional inclusions for the Keepsake Package are:

  • Revision rounds: Within the Keepsake Package, it is assumed that the author is providing final content that doesn’t need to be altered, so revision rounds are not built into the package. If you need one or more revision rounds on your book, this can be negotiated with your project manager as an additional inclusion.

Other packages

Green Hill offers four different tiers of publishing that are built to suit the varying needs of our many authors:

Green Hill Package

The Green Hill Package is for authors who want to create the strongest, most marketable version of their book.

Professional Package

The Professional Package is our most popular package. It’s the first tier package for books intended for distribution and has a host of inclusions to help your book do well in the market on top of your own marketing efforts.

If you would like to compare the inclusions for each package, visit our Compare the Packages page.
